BTS earns $75 million from ‘PTD On Stage’ 2022 concerts, fans say 'jaw just dropped'

As BTS continues to announce concerts, the ARMY has been well-fed since the end of 2021. In November 2021, BTS became the first act to sell out four consecutive shows at LA's SoFi stadium, grossing over $33 million dollars in ticket sales. In the United States, it was the highest-grossing film in 18 years. The 'Permission To Dance - On Stage' concert series is still breaking attendance records six months into 2022.

'PTD On Stage' concerts in 2022 earned BTS more than $75 million on June 8th, according to reports. Eleven performances were held across three cities: four in Los Angeles, three in Seoul, and four in Las Vegas. According to Billboard, there were a total of 458k attendees. Following Bad Bunny's 37 performances, Elton John's 40 performances, and Genesis' 35 performances in 2022, BTS had the fourth-highest gross.

The achievement is all the more impressive given that BTS will only perform seven concerts in 2022 — two each in Seoul and Las Vegas. BTS and Bad Bunny are the only two non-English acts in Billboard's top four mid-year highest-grossing tours for the first time in history. BTS' 'PTD On Stage' concerts in Las Vegas brought in over $35 million in ticket sales alone, with over 200k fans in attendance. On Billboard's "Top Tour" and "Top Box Score" lists in April, they were the highest-rated act.

The 'PTD On Stage' concert series by BTS has a long list of accomplishments under its belt. Besides making $75 million in 2022, their one-day live stream concert in Seoul was the highest grossing worldwide event-cinema release in the history of. In addition to the 45k fans who attended the concert in Seoul, over 1.4 million people around the world watched the concert in theatres. More than $82 million was earned from Seoul's hybrid (offline and online) edition, with the remaining two days being streamed online. Economic experts also said that the $32 million BTS concert revenue generated in Las Vegas helped both the United States and South Korea recover from the pandemic.
