This Bay Area amusement park, California's Great America, will be shutting its doors for good in the not-too-distant future
On Monday, Cedar Fair, the park's owner and operator, announced that it had sold the land to Prologis for $310 million. There is a dedicated light-rail stop on the 112-acre property between Route 237 and Highway 101 right next to Levi's Stadium. An 11-year deadline has been set for the park to close, but no specific date has been given.
Many famous residents of the San Francisco Bay Area have visited the Santa Clara amusement park since it opened in 1976 and now features more than 50 attractions. NBA champion Steph Curry was recently spotted taking part in a 3-point challenge at the park just days after winning his fourth championship with Golden State Warriors.
Cedar Fair is, according to a press release announcing the deal, one of the world's largest operators of amusement parks. In addition to Knott's Berry Farm, the company owns 13 other California amusement parks. Cedar Fair paid Santa Clara $150 million for the land beneath Great America, which it had previously leased.

Guests are miffed after a massive California theme park shut down all of its attractions
Knott's Berry Farm is a well-known Southern California theme park. One of Southern California's most popular tourist attractions, Knott's Berry Farm attracts nearly 4 million visitors of all ages each year.
Guests are eager to ride GhostRider, HangTime, and Montezooma's Revenge, among other thrilling rides, when they come to the park. One recent visitor, on the other hand, was extremely dissatisfied.
There are rules about closing attractions in case of rain or other bad weather at Knott's Berry Farm, as there are at many others. The following information can be found on the park's official website in regards to this rule:
Due to inclement weather, the park may be closed in full or in part. Weather-related cancellations will result in no refunds.It is the goal of Knott's Berry Farm's management to make every day the best possible for all of our guests in terms of safety and enjoyment.
There were no rides open for two hours after the park opened, according to a comment made by the original poster.We couldn't use the official Knott's Berry Farm app to see the current wait times because we weren't actually at the park.
Wait times for most rides at Knott's Berry Farm are reported to be between 45 and 120 minutes, according to the queue times website as of the time of this article's publication.
